General Rules

The community-wide standard, membership requirements, and accountability expectations.

01

The Timberland Ridge Standard

Treat the player with respect, choose actions that give the roleplay somewhere to go, share the scene instead of treating it like a contest, use believable limits, accept consequences, and own mistakes.

  • Take a few minutes to read the current rules before joining the server.
  • If staff pauses a scene, listen and follow the directions being given.
  • If you are unsure whether a scene is allowed, ask before starting it.
  • Keep your account secure and take responsibility for anything done through it.
  • Report serious safety issues, cheating, exploiting, or other major concerns through the proper channels.
02

Membership and Age

Timberland Ridge RP is a 14+ community. You must be at least 14 years old to join or remain in the community. Certain departments may set a higher age requirement under their separate policy.

  • Do not lie about your age, use another person’s date of birth, or ask somebody else to verify for you.
  • If staff has a reasonable concern that an account belongs to somebody under the minimum age, access may be limited while the concern is reviewed.
  • Age questions must be handled through the official private process. Never post identification or sensitive documents in a public channel.
03

Community Conduct

Harassment, bullying, threats, stalking, intimidation, hate speech, slurs, doxxing, sexual harassment, grooming, and sexualization of minors are prohibited. A conflict between characters never gives anyone the right to mistreat the real person behind the screen.

  • Do not make public callout posts, rumor threads, or expose campaigns.
  • Do not use reports or tickets to get back at somebody you are upset with.
  • If somebody clearly asks you to stop contacting them, leave them alone.
  • Do not recruit for other communities, send mass invites, or advertise in official spaces without permission.
  • Phishing, harmful downloads, token theft, account selling, and sharing login information are strictly prohibited.
  • Alternate accounts cannot be used to hide who you are, avoid punishment, manipulate votes, or bypass a restriction.
04

Accountability and Staff Decisions

Staff considers seriousness, harm, intent, repetition, history, honesty, cooperation, accountability, and whether access or technical knowledge was abused. Responses can range from coaching and formal warnings to restrictions, temporary suspension, or permanent removal.

  • Staff may fix or restart a scene, remove an unfair asset, correct a character, require retraining, apply department discipline, or limit access to a feature.
  • Cheating, deliberate exploiting, real-money trading, doxxing, grooming, harmful software, credible real-world threats, severe hate-based harassment, fake evidence, and returning after permanent removal may lead to immediate permanent removal.
  • When somebody breaks both community and department rules, both sides may need to address it.
05

Appeals and Record Reviews

Members can appeal eligible warnings, restrictions, suspensions, removals, and department decisions through the official appeal system. Appeals should correct mistakes, not continue the original argument.

  • Include the decision, approximate date, explanation of what may have been missed, useful evidence, an honest acknowledgment of your part, and the outcome requested.
  • Whenever reasonably possible, an appeal is reviewed by somebody who did not make the original decision.
  • Repeated appeals with no new information, false claims, witness pressure, or public campaigns may be closed.
  • Nobody will be punished simply for submitting an honest appeal through the proper process.
